GCStatus did not mention anything about Labor or I-140 fees here. Nor did he mention, he paid them.
He refers to all the DOLLARS he has paid for , which means, all EAD and AP renewals ( For self and spouse) , Additional Lawyer fees incase of incorrect NOID, additional Bio-Metrics fees.
Wait till you hear the actual Lawsuit. Long way to go. But your post helped us to clarify what we are talking about to rest of the folks like you, incase, they misinterpreted the information.

As an update,
I called TSC again today. Previously, I called early in the morning here on the East Coast and was transferred to the national service center, so at least this time I got to speak to someone @ TSC.
I gave them my receipt # and as soon as I mentioned biometrics the person said that she will schedule appointments for me and my wife and depending on availability at the local center I should get an appointment letter in the following 60 days. They must be getting a lot of this type of calls because she was very prompt to schedule the appointment. I also asked about my NC status and that was cleared in Sept so good news there as well.
I'm a little more optimistic as this time as at least now I know that USCIS initiated the request.... I'll wait and see what happens next.
So basically, this is the 3rd time I call and the first time they're willing to do anything to help.

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. Each and every single lawmaker in this country understand immigration to the extent that you may not even start to guess...People who oppose us have been putting their restrictive bills again and again so they are going to continue doing that despite of us do something or sleep, do you think Numbersusa wait for us to do something, their anti.... mill will keep churning.
Sometimes you have to see the other perspective rather than just defending a point of view.
Now is not a good time for immigrants. The EB5 investor visa, which is a no brainer in this economy has been kicked on like a can for 6 mths at a time, congressmen that are pro- immigration are laying low. Anti-immigrant forces are gearing up for a big assault in coming weeks, the American public is unsympathetic given their own issues. Against this backdrop why would we launch such an effort. Basically now is the time to play Defense not Offense. Do all you can to hang on to your job, keep your savings liquid. Wait for any opportunities to arise, and wait for the storm to pass.
After the great depression, this country virtually shut down immigration for the next few decades. Likewise they slowed it down in the early 80s and again in the early 90s. Right about now, no change is a good thing IMHO, as bad as that sounds, as change will not be in your favor.

You are seeing it from a complete 180 degrees than I see it. It's not us who's discriminating, it is the laws which are discriminating. I am asking them to treat us all equal, I entered the country on an H1B which was an employement based application it did not hav any country quota, then why should green cards for EB have country quota. Why should a person from India wait for 10 year and a person from Romania get it in 1 year....I think your ROW friends shold understand our position.

Some of my cousins and friends who are just leaving college (even the prestigious IIT's) are unwilling to come to the US.
If they do come here, they are reluctant to go after the "GC". They want to wait for a few years, and would embark upon the journey only if there are any "fixes" in the EB GC system.
If not, there are several developed countries that take point based immigrant visa applications and give you a decision in a year or two.
Most of these young friends have already made plans to apply to these countries. Those who qualify have already applied. In one case, a friend whose H1B did not go through last year, immigrated to Australia. (Both he and his wife also found a job in less than a month.)

Did any body received the card or case status changed to Card production ordered apart from GCEB2?
It seems there is progress only for GCEB2 for the gys who got the approval notice in August.

Oct 09 bulletin indicates jan 22 2005, they should have Visa numbers atleast to cover all the 2004 eb2 in september.How they can calculate so accurately, I am guessing that there could be some more extra visas that may be available at the end of September.If that is not happening then visa numbers could be lost. For eg: If some 2004 cases are not approved by the end of the month for what ever reasons then there will be some visas available which may advance visa dates furthur. So the big question is what will USCIS do with still left visas? Will they approve beyond 5 Jan 2005,with out bulletin being current or just waste Visas?

Opening threads and then burying them deep like any other thread does not help us.
Thousands of threads were opened like this and everyday we see new threads.
I strongly recommend
(1) Update your profile with true information
(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.
We can go from there
There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on
I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff
Chandu - I understand where you come from with your vast experience here. Like i mentioned i am totally new to this site and i am not JUST opening a thread. WE are going to do it. If making the 70k talk is joining the chapter, so be it. Nothing stops us.

Next step is to collect personal informations, see who are nearby meet them in person, arrange conference calls, let the ball rolling

Thanks dingudi. If you know of a solid case where someone was RFE'd because of landing while on 485, then it looks like I might seriously consider abandoning it as well.
One last question: Let's hypothetically say that I do decide to land and somehow manage to get back into the US without any issues using my AP. However, every subsequent time I leave the U.S. and return, I run the risk of getting "caught" at the POE with regards to the 485/Canadian residency conflict. Am I correct in this assessment?

I landed on March 17, 08 and came back the same day to the US using Automatic Visa Revalidation. I had no questions asked either by Canadian or US authorities. When you land the Canadian authorities will staple a piece of paper to your PP as proof of PR until you get the PR card. While re-entering the US I remove that stapled paper as it was very annoying every time you opened the PP. Nobody will question you just because you have a plan B.
One last question: Let's hypothetically say that I do decide to land and somehow manage to get back into the US without any issues using my AP. I am very new to this forum and have been spending some time here just over the past few weeks. I am trying to learn the ropes of this EB green card system. As someone pointed, I belong to those on the "fence" not knowing what or how to be effective with my time and money in these efforts. I like this thread and I think I want to begin my involvement through this effort.
My opinion is that we don't need a 1000 people to contribute to reach $100000 for the effort. Those who are willing to give $100 would not, I think, hesitate to give another $100 or even more to speed up the process. I for one will contribute $200 and if necessary more for this effort.

Man-woman-gc just gave a ballpark - 100 is bare minimum, of course more than that is always welcome, i see a 500 dollars too ;-)

One of my friend got "Card Production Ordered" email. He is EB2-I, PD Jan 2006, RD- Sep 30 2007, NSC.
Mine is Dec 2005 and still waiting. So what is going on with NSC? Are they also doing the same thing that TSC is doing? latest cases first?
